The first is a bath thermometer, with a glass tube part filled with a bright red liquid, so it is obviously not mercury.

The kit contains a bath thermometer ( a wrist or elbow would do ), an inflatable cover for a tub spigot, a night light, plastic covers for electric outlets and tape to secure electric cords out of the way.
